THE ISRAELIAN COMMUNITY OF IOANNINA The capital city of Epirus is also the “capital” of the local Hebrew community, the epicenter of the Greek-speaking Jewish world. Since then, Hebrews have been residents of Ioannina, maintaining their own tradition. Many old Jewish houses are preserved until today constitute monuments of architectural heritage, such as the two Levi houses, the Mord Raphael and Moses residences.
