With Karpenissi as a base , get ready for a dreamy route surrounding Velouchi . After about half an hour ( about 17 km ) and through Karpenissi-Neraida regional road you will reach an area covered in spruce , oaks , walnut trees and plane trees . It is Stenoma , where times seems to pass as it should : peacefully and naturally . In this beautiful village , the residents -as in every village we met- will be very kind at you and treat you with everything they have . A stone ’ s throw away from there , you will find Pavlopoulo , with burbling waters and the temple of St . Dimitios standing prestigiously as a patron . “ Climb ” to the chapel of St . Panteleimon to enjoy the endless views of Timfristos ( Velouchi ) and Tavropos . In record time ( just 2,5 km ) you will arrive at the verdant Papadia village . After the necessary stop to admire the view and take some photos , head to the traditional Domiani settlement , with a vegetation that could easily be compared to every cosmopolitan Swiss resort ! The Monastery of the Assumption of the Mother of God ( Kimisi tis Theotokou ) is worth visiting . From Domiani , after just 11 km , you will reach the village of Aghia Triada , sprawling smoothly along the slopes of Velouchi . If you choose to visit the majestic temple of Aghia Triada looming over the highest point of the village , make a stop at the taverns of the village to enjoy tsipouro and meze and after a few minutes you will find yourself clinking glasses with locals !
