Surrender into the beauty of Agrafa , with Krentis as the ideal base ( s . Route 10 ). Take the main road head to Agrafa . From Varvariada Bridge you can visit Marathos , the homeland of warrior Katsantonis , the “ eagle ” of Agrafa , with the church of Agii Taxiarches that is said to have been built in 1591 , looming over the village . Return to the main road and head to the beautiful Monastiraki village , on the west of Agrafiotis river in an area surrounded by high mountains . Except from many churches , within short distance you will find the Oskliani Hole of Agrafiotis , an unknown miniature of the amazing “ Panta Vrehi ” gorge ! Here you will find hiking trails . After you return to the main road , continue until you arrive at Agrafa . It is a different destination , perfect for travellers seeking authentic experiences . In the heart of the mountain range of Agrafa and in the foothills of Koukourountzos mountain , the area is related with the Ottoman period and the action of the Klephts . It is surrounded by many settlements , with the temple of St . Georgios from 1610 attracting the interest . After you return to the main road , head to Epiniana , where you will find the Monastery of Panagia ( also known as “ Monastery of Stana ”), one of the most impressive religious monuments in the region . It is hidden into a cave of a secluded rock and it is protected by enormous trees . Once you arrive at Epiniana ( at an altitude of 1100 m ) you will be mesmerized by the mountain tops and the endless fir forests . Back on the main road , after a few km you will reach Tridentro , at an altitude of 980 meters , on the right side of Agrafiotis river . Head north to Trovato , one of the most mountainous villages in the area , built at an altitude of 1060 meters , with its warm locals . Definitely pay a visit to the church of Timios Stavros . On the right of Trovato , you will meet Vragiana , only 7,7 km from Tridentro . Here , you can relax enjoying the beauties of the historical village that flourished during the years of the Ottoman Occupation .
NOTE : When you arrive at Agrafa , you can follow an alternative yet beautiful route and reach the picturesque and mountainous Kamaria village within 18,2 km .
