From Karpenissi , fasten your seat belts and after 20 minutes you will reach Kalesmeno , a village with many settlements that will leave you breathless with their beauty and the way the permanent residents keep their place neat . Almost opposite Kalesmeno , after 13,1 km of winding road , Paparousi ( east and west ) seduces your senses with the fountains , the stone built arched bridge and the friendly locals . Although Marathias has no permanent residents ( it is full of life during the summer ), the traditional stone houses built from the locals themselves , showcases the old glory of the settlement . Following the Karpenissi-Agrinio National Road , after 7 km , East Fragista boasts its charm as one of the most beautiful villages in the region , with
running waters , blooming gardens and smiling people . The birthplace of G . Kafantaris , a Greek politician , has an important Folklore Museum with historical heirlooms ( you can visit it upon telephone communication , Τ . + 30 6977 960232 ). A stone ’ s throw away , you will find its “ little brother ” , West Fragista , surrounded by dense vegetation and views ( mainly Kafki mountain ) to the endless Evrytanian land ( ask for directions to watermill ). Τhe next settlements are Aghios Georgios , Paleochori , Neochori and Episkopi , who have been blessed to “ gaze ” at Kremasta lake .
