10 th ROUTE K arpenissi – V iniani – K erasochori – K renti – V arvariada and M arathos , M onastiraki – A grafa – E piniana – S tana – T ridentro – T rovato – V ragiana Start from Karpenissi for another beautiful route, this one to villages of Agrafa. Take the road to Krenti (about 1 hour, 40.9 km), you meet Kalesmeno village, Nea Viniani (there stop at Viniani -about 54’. 36.3 km from Karpenissi), and then at Kerasochori (about 33’, 16.5 km from Viniani and only 3.1 km to Krenti village). At Krenti, there is a sign that leads to Varvariada. Arrive to Varvaraia from where it is worth going north to the village of Monastiraki as well as to village of Marathos. From Varvaria- da village take a beautiful route to Agrafa village, a mountain village at an altitude of 850m., on the slopes of Agrafa.Also, from Varvariada and bypassing the village of Agrafa, going to Vragiana village, on the road you will meet the Epiniana on the slopes of Fteri. It is definitely worth continuing from Epiniana for almost 5 km north to see in person one of the most beautiful religious monuments of Agrafa, the Monastery of Stana, standing literary hidden in a cave of the steep rock, protect- ed by tall trees, in a unique landscape. If you continue north from there for about 20’ (7 km), you will get to Tridentro, on the right bank of Agrafiotis river, with its natural monument, the plane-house. After about 7 km, you will get to Trovato. Sur- rounded by the enchanting tops of Agrafa, Trovato consists of four picturesque set- tlements that follow the natural terrain. Finally, you can head , to the provincial road of Vragiana, to get to Vragiana (6.7 km, about 22’), a village known, among other reasons, for its offer in Scholarship during the Turkish Rule.
