THE VILLAGES Στα Φιδάκια| In Fidakia village FIDAKIA AND KRIKELO The most remote villages of Karpenissi are Fidakia (26 km) and Krikelo (28 km), but they are also the ones that should not be missing from your list, since they remind you - with- out exaggeration – of a cinema setting!! The village of Fidakia is built at an altitude of 960m and you can see from here the remarkable Kremasta Lake, the largest artifi- cial lake in Greece. It is worth visiting as you will have a top experience: the turquoise waters, the fjords and the numerous islands make up a landscape that brings to mind other European countries. Tip: The lake is also ideal for canoe - kayak. If you are a fan of this activity, make sure you have made reservation for the relevant package with Trekking Hellas , the outdoor tour operator company which is active in the area (info: 3rd km of Karpenissi-Lamia road, T. 2237025940, www.trekking.gr). 52 Upon arriving at the stone-built village, you will necessarily leave your car at the parking lot and you will stroll around the scenic cobblestone streets until your steps take you to the central square with the temple dedicated to the Nativity of Virgin Mary. You will fall in love with Krikelo before you even get there! The route through the Rachi Timphristou - Domnistis District Road (last- ing about 30-40) will take you to alpine landscapes. It is indeed one of the most beautiful routes in Greece. Getting to the village the splendor of nature will continue to impress you, since it is built at an altitude of 1,120 meters and is surrounded by a dense forest that takes life from the waters of Krikelopotamos!
