των µπότηδων (κεραµικά κανάτια,
γεμάτα νερό).
• Την υποδοχή του Αγίου Φωτός στο
Πεντοφάναρο στο Λιστόν κατά τις 22:00.
• Την Ανάσταση στις 00:00, στην Άνω
Πλατεία, µε χιλιάδες πυροτεχνήµατα.
ΚΥΡΙΑΚΗ ΤΟΥ ΠΑΣΧΑ
• Την περιφορά της εικόνας της Αναστάσεως
στις εκκλησίες κατά τις 08:00.
• Το έθιµο µε τα κόκκινα αυγά, όπου κολλάνε
τα τσόφλια στις πόρτες ή τα πετάνε
στους κήπους για να ’ναι ευλογηµένη η
σοδειά.
HOLY THURSDAY

• The custom of “twelve candles” in the
Duomo, the Catholic Cathedral at the Town

GOOD FRIDAY

performing mourning marches.
HOLY SATURDAY
• The custom of the earthquake at 6:00 at the
Panagia of Xenon church, when the attendants
pound on the seats.
• The first resurrection at 11:00 and the famous
custom where the locals throw from balconies
large decorated ceramic pots full of water.
• The reception of the Holy Light at Pentofanaro
at Liston at 22:00.
• The Resurrection at 00:00, in the Upper
Square, with thousands of fireworks.
EASTER SUNDAY
• The Litany of the icon of the Resurrection in
the churches of the various parishes at 08:00.
• The custom with the traditional red eggs
where they stick the shells on the doors or
throw them in the gardens so that the harvest
will be blessed.
