ΟΔΟΣ NIKHΦΟΡΟΥ ΘΕΟΤΟΚΗ
Ο πιο δηµοφιλής πεζόδρομος της Παλιάς
Πόλης καθώς συγκεντρώνει τουριστικά
καταστήµατα, παραδοσιακά ζαχαροπλαστεία
και πολυτελείς boutiques, ενώ δεν
λείπουν οι αναπάντεχες εκπλήξεις, όπως η
Πλακάδα του Αγίου, αλλά και τα γραφικά κάθετα
καντούνια που προκαλούν για εξερεύνηση.
Πρόκειται για τον παλαιότερο δρόµο
της Κέρκυρας -εµπορική αρτηρία όταν
λεγόταν Cale dell’ Erbe o Dei Mercanti- που
συνέδεε τη Σπιανάδα µε το Νέο Φρούριο
και το λιµάνι. Σε σχέση µε τα υπόλοιπα πλακόστρωτα
είναι από τα πιο φαρδιά, ενώ στις
θολωτές στοές του αναπτυσσόταν πάντοτε
η οικονοµική δραστηριότητα!
NIKΙFOROU THEOTOKI STREΕΤ
It is the most popular street in Corfu Old
Town, lined with tourist shops, traditional
patisseries and luxurious boutiques. It also
hides unexpected surprises, such as the
Plakada of Saint Spyridon, as well as the
narrow, picturesque “kantounia” inviting
you to explore them! It is the oldest
commercial street of Corfu, which used to
be called “Cale dell ‘Erbe o Dei Mercanti”,
and connects Spianada Square with the
New Fortress and the port. Compared
to the other paved streets of the Old
Town, it is one of the widest, while the
arcades alongside the street have always
concentrated the island’s economic activity!
