OINOTOYΡΙΣΜΟΣ
Από την αρχαιότητα με το διάσημο κρασί των Φαιάκων, η Κερκυραϊκή οινοποιεία συνεχίζει
μέχρι τις μέρες μας. Άλλωστε έως τα μέσα του 16ου αιώνα το αμπέλι ήταν η βασική καλλιέργεια
στο νησί, μέχρι που οι Ενετοί επιδότησαν την ελιά. Οι οινόφιλοι που επιθυμούν να
κάνουν οινοτουρισμό έχουν στη διάθεσή τους επισκέψιμα οινοποιεία, τα περισσότερα συγκεντρωμένα
στο κεντρικό και βόρειο τμήμα του νησιού. Εκεί θα έχουν την ευκαιρία να δοκιμάσουν
τοπικές ποικιλίες όπως ο Κακοτρύγης (λευκό), το Πετροκόρυθο και το Σκοπελίτικο
(κόκκινα), όπως άλλωστε και τοπικό οίνο με την ένδειξη ΠΓΕ Κέρκυρα και ΠΓΕ Χαλικούνα.
WINE TOURISM
From the ancient times with the famous wine of Phaeaces,, the wine production in Corfu
continues until this day. After all, until the mid 16th century the vineyard was the main
cultivation on the island, until the Venetians subsidized the olive. For the wine aficionados who
wish to enjoy wine tourusm, there are wineries open to visitors, most of the concentrated on
the main and north part of the island. Therem they will have the chance to taste local varieties,
like Kakotrygis (white wine), Petrokaritho and Skopelitiko (red wines), as well as the local wine
with the indication “PGI Corfu” and “PGI Chalikounas” (Protected Geographical Indication ).
