ΤΟ ΜΥΣΤΉΡΙΟ ΜΕ ΤΑ ΔΡΑΚΌΣΠΙΤΑ ΤΗΣ ΕΎΒΟΙΑΣ
THE MYSTERY OF THE DRAGON HOUSES IN EVIA
Πρόκειται για 23 μεγαλιθικά λατρευτικά κτί-
σματα στη νότια Εύβοια, χρονολογούμενα
στους κλασικούς (5ος αι. π.Χ.) και πρώιμους
ελληνιστικούς χρόνους τα οποία βρίσκονται
κοντά στα Στύρα (τα περισσότερα) , την
Κάρυστο, και την κορυφή της Όχης. Στέκουν
όρθια εδώ και χιλιάδες χρόνια και προκα-
λούν εντύπωση δεδομένου ότι δεν έχουν
ούτε θεμέλια ούτε συνδετικά υλικά μεταξύ
τους και κατασκευάστηκαν από γιγαντιαίες
πλάκες... Είναι αφομοιωμένα πλήρως στο
περιβάλλον, καθώς έχουν οικοδομηθεί από
τεράστιες πέτρες των βουνών και έχουν λα-
ξευτεί σε ορθογώνιο σχήμα....
Σύμφωνα με τον θρύλο εκεί ζούσαν μυθικά
πλάσματα, οι Δράκοι απ΄ όπου πήραν και την
ονομασία τους τα οικήματα. Ο τρόπος που
τοποθετήθηκαν οι γιγαντιαίοι λίθοι δεν είναι
γνωστός, όπως επίσης άγνωστη παραμένει
και η χρονολόγηση τους.... ενώ μέχρι και
σήμερα δεν έχει αποσαφηνιστεί από ποιους
δημιουργήθηκαν. Το μόνο σίγουρο είναι ότι
οι κατασκευαστές ήταν γνώστες στατικής και
της κυκλώπειας τεχνικής.
In southern Evia, there are 23 megalithic
pilgrimage structures, dating from the
classical (5th century B.C.) and early
Hellenistic ages, located close to Stira
(most of them), Karistos and the peak of
Ochi mountain. They have been standing
there for thousands of years and cause
awe as they have no foundations or other
connecting materials and they have been
built of giant flagstones. They are fully
integrated in the environment, as they
have been built from enormous stones
from the mountains and have been carved
in rectangular shape.
According to the legend, this where
mythical creatures used to live, the
Dragons after which the structures were
named. The way the giant stones were
placed remains unknown, so is their
dating, while until this day the creator of
these stone buildings is unclear. The only
thing that is certain, is that the people that
built them were well aware of the static
and cyclopean technique.
