Πετρωτό | Petroto important junction . Turn right to reach the beautiful village of Anthiro , seat of the Municipality , located at an altitude of 800 m and the biggest village in Argithea . At the village , you will see some of the most remarkable monasteries in the wider region . The Museum of Anthiro is a place of interest . At Anthiro there is also a small stone bridge and a trout farming station . From Anthiro as your base , explore the entire region which , among others , is a place of maqjor archaeological interest . After Anthiro , you will find its settlements , Lagadi and Metamorfosi , and following the paved road , you will arrive at the borders of the Regional Unit of Trikala and the villages of Aspropotamos . Heading left , you will find another junction . Here , following the road on the right , you will arrive at the villages of Petroto , Kali Komi and Ellinika . Achelous flows almost parallel to the route , being the natural border of the Regional Unit of Karditsa-Arta . On the road and within relatively short distance , is the renowned gorge of Kostiano , while a little further , at the gorge of Fagos Aris Velouchiotis left his last breath in 15 June 1945 . Following the road and reaching the river , you will pass the modern Bailey-type bridge . After 50 meters , on the right , you will see the stone bridge of Petroto , a site of great architecture . Reaching Achelous , a little further from the current bridge , there are the remnants of the biggest single-arched bridge of the Balkans , the historical Korakou bridge .
