village there are four temples , with the one of St . Nikolaos being the oldest one , built in 1861-1881 . Petroto is also known for its three impressive stone bridges . At “ Poupi ” location , Kamara , one of the most-photographed ones in the area , was built around 1280 . At Sykies settlements on the banks of Achelous , the bridge with the two or three arches is Koutsokamara , a structure from the early Roman years . Korakou bridge was the biggest single-arched bridge in the Balkan region , located between the Sykia settlement in Petroto and Piges in Arta and was built in 1527-1528 . On the left abutments , you will see “ Koulia ”, the stone , two-storey residence that served as an outpost of the bridge .
