with its cafes and traditional taverns, and the
anchored yachts as a background! From there it
is worth going up for a while, to the settlement
with the picturesque alleys and the beautiful
captains’ mansions!
• Visit the Folklore Museum, housed in a
unique building by K. Aggelis, with artifacts
from the traditional culture of Galaxidi.
• A visit to the Nautical Museum, one of the
best in Greece, with rare historical nautical
artifacts.
• Admire the masterpiece woodcut altarpiece
with images from the Old and the New
Teastament, in the Church of Saint Nickolaus.
• A walk in the verdant grove, at the end of
Pera Panta street, which is full of pine trees.
There you will find two ancient monuments,
the Tomb of king Lokros (a proto-Christian
catacomb finding) and ruins from the walls of
ancient Oianthi.
• The Church of Saint Paraskevi (a 16th
century building) with the zodiac circle on the
floor and a sundial in the yard.
• Mamma square with the characteristic Spilia
(“cave”), a natural geological phenomenon
that served as a communal fridge during the
German Occupation.
• The monastery of the Configuration of the
Savior on a nearby hill, at an altitude of 300 m.
• The Old Girls’ School, a preservable
neoclassical building from 1880 that housed a
girl’s school until 1929!
• Return during the Carnival, to live in the beat
of one of the most renowned carnivals in our
