H Λιβαδειά έχει ταυτιστεί µε το αυθεντικό
Ρουµελιώτικο Πάσχα και όχι άδικα, µιας και βρίσκεται
στο απόγειό της αυτή την περίοδο με πλήθος εκδη-
λώσεων, αλλά και λαχταριστά πασχαλινά εδέσµατα
που ψήνονται παραδοσιακά σε λάκκους, σε διάφορα
σηµεία της πόλης!
Livadia is well know for the authentic Rumelian Easter
and not without good reason, since the city is currently
at its zenith with a series of festivals and Easter delicacies
baked in a traditional way in dips all around the place.
WHAT TO SEE
• The Byzantine castle on the
hill of Prophet Elijah that stands
proud around the wellsprings! Its
history dates back to the ancient
years, while it owes its current
form to the Catalan domina-
tion; it is one of the four Catalan
castles still preserved in Greece
to this day.
• The Trophonius Oracle at the
base of the hill of Prophet Elijah.
It is one of the most important
oracles of the ancient years,
mainly because it was built un-
derground.
• The Stone Theater of Krya
through the cobbled path and
into a magical route through the
same-named gorge.
• The Clock Tower that was built
during the rule of the Franks. Was
placed in 1803, when Lord Elgin
gave it to the city!
• The History and Ethnology
Museum housed in the water
mill of Krya that hosts important
exhibits that highlight the history
of the region (Τ. 22610 80997).
• The Museum of Old Profes-
sions of the Traders Associa-
tion of Livadia where you will
discover professions that faded
away in the course of time and
some others that still exist to
this day in a different form (24
