Canadian hip hop, significantly influenced by the rhythms and styles of Caribbean music, became quite popular. The first Canadian hip hop artists was known as Devon, Maestro Fresh Wes, and Dream Warriors.

The first known English Canadian rap single, Singing Fools' "The Bum Rap", was released in 1982.”

All Hip Hop started with a young African American man, whose real name is Clive Campbell better known as DJ Cool Herc, in the 1970's. During his sister's party, people started to get influenced by his work in music. So, other parts of America started joining in with the hip hop and adding rap to it. Other countries started to get influenced by the Americans and added their culture to it. Hip hop has continued to change over time, and new genres of hip hop were included until this day.
