1. Tell us about your background – your story of self-discovery and your amazing achievements
This question and the answer could be a book in itself.
I have had an amazing life. I do not talk a lot about everything in it because it seems like it is a story rather than an actual life; yet, it is my life.
Possibilities and opportunities are two of my favorite words. Life has given me plenty of both; personally, and professionally. I am not more talented, more gifted, more intelligent or luckier than any others. What I am is determined. I will work harder, longer, not giving up when it is hard because everything is hard. I find ways to get through anything and everything. Because of this, I have had a fair share of accomplishments. Some of opportunities for growth that I have experienced:
- I graduated from High School at 16 years old and decline a dance scholarship due to another family member that needed me due to a family issue.
- I have had to go underground with my children, giving up everything and starting over due to domestic abuse.
- I have had to fight the school system that wanted to institutionalize one of my children due to mental illness; creating an institution in my own home and a team that would help him grow into the man he is today.
- I have had to overcome being so sick that they wanted to put me in the hospital through sheer determination due to the fact I was
