3. Flashback to when you were 10 years old. What do you want to be when you grow up?
When I was ten years old, I was a very awkward child. I grew up in southern California and was allergic to the sun. I was not allowed to go outside and play with the other children. I also was born with my mouth not formed correctly, so when I was ten years old, I would go to “Speech Therapy” at school and directly after school too.
My mother, during that period of my life, was very involved. She helped me to see that no matter what, I could overcome anything. She would work with me to get over my fear, see the gifts that I did have and made sure I knew never to give up.
So, at ten years old, in 5th grade, I was in Safety Patrol. That was a big deal, being allergic to the sun. We found a way to help me be in the shade and do the duties required. I had my own “business.” I would help mothers with chores, odd jobs around their house, anything that
