I feel being that one example of ‘possibilities’, may just be what somebody needs to reignite the fire within them to also overcome and become. I have been very fortunate to have had people who helped me on my journey too. I am very grateful for my life including the obstacles. Adversities help us to increase our capacities to handle different complexities of life. We develop the tenacity and the strength of character required to lead and most importantly, adversities increase our sensitivity to issues of humanity especially as regards empathy towards others.

b. I believe women are an underused part of the overall wealth of talents in Africa and the world at large and the few of us who have been fortunate enough to achieve some enviable milestones owe it to humanity to pave the way for other women. Our job therefore as successful women is to consciously and deliberately create an extra seat at the table for other women.

3. Flashback to when you were 10 years old. What do you want to be when you grow up?

I do not recall knowing what I wanted to be at 10 except that I was sure that I had something to say and wanted the world to hear me. However, at some point, I wanted to be a lawyer or journalist and wanted to do music part-time.

4. Do you have any skills or talents that most people don’t know about?

I write songs and I sing. I love public speaking and I do content writing. I just recently took to web designing. There was a project I had sometime ago (I think I was 20), 2 different people had to write about me what they thought I would become; they both wrote the same thing! They wrote ‘vocalist’ and/or ‘motivational speaker’. Lol

b. I could be somewhere and someone is laughing and generally having a ‘good time’, and I can tell if they’re going through stuff and just pretending to be ‘strong’. I know that script too well. I can see them. I am very good at listening; effective listening.

5. Who is someone you admire, and why?

My mom! She’s a supermom. I definitely got my business trait from her. At 17, she made me the manager of her 2 shops and held me accountable for almost everything. As a young adult, I was always engaged. If I wasn’t working, I was
