think of intense feelings of anger and hate. The love crazed think of a sexual desire. An obsolete definition, which happens to be the root of passion is suffering. One of the definitions in the Urban Dictionary says, “Passion is when you put more energy into something than is required to do it. It is more than just enthusiasm or excitement, passion is ambition that is materialized into action to put as much heart, mind body and soul into something as is possible.”

We hear words like enthusiasm, dedication, and ambition along with hard work and hustle. At the heart of all the definitions there is a huge connection between passion and an emotional feeling. I wanted to help people understand what passion looks like in practice, so I created an acronym to explain not only what passion is, but how each component is manifested in the life of high achievers. As you reflect on your goals, gage where you are in regards with the components of passion.

POSITIVITY

For some of us the word positivity feels too soft or passive and we can imagine someone so focused on the positive that they ignore or reject anything that can be perceived as negative in life. High achievers understand the difficulties in life, especially when pursuing something great that feels insurmountable. They understand that life is not perfect, and they need to manage expectations. When they have passion about achieving their goals, they develop the ability to attain and maintain a positive attitude about the desired outcome despite whatever obstacles life
