We’ve Got It
In the Bag!
By: Kimberly Morris
Yep, I’m that girl. The one with the trendy pants and stylish blouse; wearing shoes that step in the
room way before my body and earrings to die for do. And of course makeup painted on by the
gods. However, there is a single strand of my tapestry that stands out - my purse.
Handbag, tote, bag, clutch, whatever you want to call it, my purse is my nemesis. Not because I
don’t have an abundance of selections to choose from. There’s a gorgeous, rich orange straw
shoulder bag with fringe for days hanging from the closet doorknob. And a leather, brown box
bag with Aztec designs on the front planted on the dresser. If you take a stroll into the spare bedroom, you’ll find bags and boxes with colorful hues of green, yellow, red and blue in pockets of
the room.
Nope. The problem is simple: switching purses is a task that starts okay but turns into a chore. Upon inspection of the contents, I’d much rather walk the mile of purse shame than to tackle the
dungeon of eternal “can’t find what I need”. You know, “I had a pen in here and now I can’t
find it”. “Where is that receipt? I just had it and now I can’t find it”. “Are you kidding? I hear the
phone, but can’t find it” Yeah, that!
Are you that girl too? Better yet, what’s in your purse? Take inventory. You may be surprised.
