FITNESS As women, we tend to focus on certain body parts more than others. But a nice set of legs never goes unnoticed. Keep in mind that doing cardio may help you lose some weight, but if you’re looking to tighten up you need to build muscle. If you’re not quite there yet but looking to sculpt and tone your gams, try the following exercises: Squats Plié squats, front squats, back squats, whatever you choose, squat! Here the plié squat is demonstrated. The key is to keep the legs wide and toes pointed outward. Hold a plate or dumbbell with both hands hanging between your legs while doing this exercise. Really focus on squeezing the glutes on the upward motion. TIPS: Inhale when lowering body, exhaling when pushing back up. Keep toes pointed forward. Engage your abdominals.
