BlackBerry Motion :

“ The perfect choice for the media connoisseur ”

Words By Sebastian Oakley
The Motion is a new addition to the BlackBerry Mobile lineup which caters for those who have been longing for a full touchscreen experience . It sports a fantastic 5.5 ” IPS LCD nano diamond anti-scratch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and a 403 PPI ratio . I had no problems with this screen and found it had good viewing angels and vivid colour depth .
This device also excelled while viewing multi-media content such as YouTube or Instagram for example and I think with this setup and the added security from BlackBerry in the form of DETK I think this device is the perfect choice for the media connoisseur who enjoys viewing all types of media but want to be secure while doing it .
The BlackBerry Motion is a premium product from start to finish , it delivers great feedback whilst in the hands , being only 6.13 ” in height and only 2.97 ” wide , this form factor for me was spot on , and others in the office also commented on how well it felt in the hand . The design is also a great asset for the Motion , brushed space grey aluminium chassis which follows to the back of the device where you are greeted to the beautiful diagonal striped back which shiny BlackBerry logo , the back is extremely grippy and made holding the phone even more enjoyable .

Spec wise you will be getting the first water and dust-resistant BlackBerry smartphone ( IP67 Rated ) with a snapdragon 625 Octa-Core processor , 4GB of RAM and internal storage of 32GB with the option of additional storage via MicroSD up to 2TB ! Power wise you are getting a 4000 mAh battery which BlackBerry claim you can achieve 32 + hours of all day to all night usageI found this to be quite a conservative estimate from BlackBerry , I easily got 3 days of medium to heavy use on the Motion from a single charge .
But those of you who are heavy hitters on battery life will be pleased to know the Motion is equipped with Quick Charge 3.0 and a Boost Mode for faster charging when on the go .
Camera wise you will find a 8MP fixed-focus f2.2 element that is capable of capturing 1080p HD video at 30 FPS . To the rear you will find a 12MP large pixel camera with the ability to record 4K video at 30 FPS with Dual-Tone flash .
Images captured on both cameras seemed good with the rear taking the lead and producing some stunning shots that anyone would be happy with .
