With their Scandinavian-like innovative design, timber
cladding, expanses of glass and outside balconies and terraces
the houses at Cubis Bruton provide contemporary country
living and a vivid contrast to traditional housing in Bruton.
With contemporary facades created from expanses of glazing,
timber cladding and stone, the timber-frame houses have flat
or angular roofs. Selected houses have a sedum/green roof
which allows for a range of planting options and provides
important microclimates for birdlife and other species whilst
also improving air quality due to the filtering mechanism of the
plants and substrate.
Internally the houses benefit from a very high window to wall
ratio and provide open, multi-functional rooms with large
glazing and seamless openings onto gardens and terraces.
Internally all the houses are designed around a large open
living space which flows into the kitchen and breakfast area.
The largest four bedroom houses have a second living room
and a ground floor fourth bedroom which could be used as a
study.
The staircases are designed with voids enabling light to cascade
through the space, which alongside the glazing, creates living
spaces which benefit from an extremely light and bright
ambience.
