ROYAL CORNWALL SHOW 2019 Dynnargh Dhywgh! Welcome - One and All The Royal Cornwall showground in Wadebridge attracted around 120,000 visitors to the three-day show held 6-8 June 2019. The shows main purpose is to showcase the very best that Cornwall has to offer in the agricultural, farming and horticultural industry and it didn’t disappoint. The Royal visitor was HRH Princess Alexandra, the Hon Lady Ogilvy KG GCVO CD who visited on the first day of the show with an informal tour around the showground. The weather over the three days was typically British; scorching sun, wind, rain and even a shower of hail, but this didn’t put the visitors off! One of the largest showgrounds to host agricultural shows in this country there was plenty going on and many tents for visitors to dash in to avoiding getting too wet. Live music is one of the characteristics of the show with displays from the Cornwall ACF Bugle Platoon, Samba Kernow, the BBC Radio Cornwall tent, the Festival of Dance, Irish singers Black Velvet and Oll an Gwella singing traditional Cornish songs and the students of Cornwall College all live on stages around the showground, the atmosphere was fantastic. Farming and Livestock weren’t the only things on show, there were competitions for Pigeons, Rabbits, Caged Birds, Horses and Dogs which visitors could see up close. There was a good variety of Steam engines and vintage cars on display, rural crafts, a cider championship and lots of trade stands selling everything you could wish for. We had a great day at the show and can recommend a visit if you either live in the South West or are wanting to visit Cornwall on holiday. Next years show takes place from Thursday 4th to Saturday 6th June 2020 A variety of action-packed entertainment greeted show goers with displays from the Atkinson Action Horses, The RAF Police Dog demonstration team and an RAF Falcons parachute display to name a few. 74 | The Gentleman Magazine “Powered by , Securing the Internet of Things”
