REMY MARTIN XO AND ATELIER STEAVEN RICHARD
LAUNCH LIMITED EDITION BOTTLE
The House of Rémy Martin and the Atelier Steaven Richard
both bear the label Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (EPV),
a mark of recognition by the French State, rewarding French
firms for their artisanal know-how and manufacturing
excellence. With a constant focus on craftsmanship and development,
Rémy Martin chose to join forces with artist Steaven Richard
to showcase XO, combining two worlds steeped in ancestral
know-how, and enhanced by the work of a team constantly
searching for new ways to innovate.
The label was one of the starting points which led to a
partnership with metalwork expert Steaven Richard, in which
the artist redesigned Rémy Martin’s emblematic centaur,
creating a unique piece of work with vertical structures
representing the House’s vines. Since training in traditional artistic metalwork, Steaven
Richard has been honing his professional skills for over twenty
years focusing on experimenting and innovating. He has always
used his pioneering approach to enrich the trade’s heritage of
traditional techniques.
From this same inspiration, the limited-edition Rémy Martin
XO x Steaven Richard was born, with the metalwork artist
redesigning the iconic XO decanter and gift box, available
exclusively at Selfridges from 27th May. Combining traditional know-how with modern digital
techniques resulted in a now patented innovative technique:
artistic lamination. Driven by his love for nature and the earth,
and by drawing inspiration from the organic world with wood
and vegetal effects, Steaven transforms materials to give them
a whole new dimension. His expertise allows him to create an
infinite palette of textures, patterns and colors by decorating
brass and iron with textile motifs.
Since 1724, Rémy Martin has made an incredible contribution
to developing exceptional talent in viticulture, distillation and
blending. These many different men and women have worked
together to contribute their exceptional know-how and draw
on their perfect knowledge of cognac – and Rémy Martin’s
centaur emblem pays homage to these exceptional talents.
Rémy Martin XO epitomises patience and talent. Aromas of
juicy plum and fig intermingle with candied orange, hazelnut
and a hint of cinnamon, creating exceptional softness and
length on the palate.

“I took inspiration from Rémy Martin’s centuries-old
connection with the soil – its love for nature – and something
happened. Something approaching a revelation: from the
verticality of the vines that climb to the sky, this piece reaches
out towards the stars.” - Steaven Richard
