THE BROTOX BOOM

Take a look in your bathroom cabinet today , and we predict it looks very different to that of your fathers or grandfathers ! With men ' s grooming expected to be worth around 81.2 billion dollars in 2024 , that ' s a lot of beautifying !
Just as male beauty products have grown and evolved , so have male aesthetics , with ' tweakments ' becoming as commonplace as going to the barbers .
In this article , we spoke to award-winning aesthetics artist and trainer Amish Patel of Intrigue Cosmetic to find out more about men ' s aesthetics treatments and the ' Brotox Boom '.
" We have around a 40 % share of male clients at our clinic , and it ' s growing by the month ." Explains Amish .
" Of those clients , I would say we have a diverse mix of ages , ranging from those guys in their late twenties through to those in their late 50 ' s ."
" I would say that anti-wrinkle injections are the most popular choice amongst guys , closely followed by fillers ; rhinoplasty ( the liquid nose job ), jawline definition and sculpturing and cheekbone enhancement ."
So , what are the reasons cited for wanting aesthetic treatments ?
" It really varies . Our younger male clients are very much into their fitness and grooming , so for them , having aesthetic treatments is really just an extension of their health and wellness regime . These guys take good care of themselves , so to have a tweak here or there is something they see as an ' upkeep ' expense rather than anything out of the ordinary . We also have music , TV , film and sport celebrity clients who want to feel and look their best on camera ."
However , for some male clients in their late thirties upwards , their reasons are often different ;
" With these male clients , they still look after themselves and care about their appearances , but whilst their bodies are healthy and fit , they often feel that an ageing face doesn ' t reflect their healthy lifestyle or youthful mindset . These clients will often have treatments because they want to feel more confident presenting to a boardroom or pitching for new clients ."
" The reasons for having aesthetic treatments are different for everyone and as individual as the face you are working with ." Explains Amish .
