A Welcome from BGGA CEO Andrew Summers The fall semester is now underway and the buzz has returned to Bishops Gate Golf Academy after what felt like a long summer without our “family”. We have almost seventy students, half of whom are new, and these new family members are adjusting to new friends, their new environment and of course their new coaches and house parents. I had the pleasure of meeting our students and families at our opening banquet at Mission Inn. Lee-Anne Misseldine opened the event with an amazing video, inspiring us to achieve by doing the right things, and doing them well. We will continue to reinforce that message all year long. Bishops Gate is the “best” junior golf academy experience, with the “best” junior golf coach team attracted to work on the “best” facilities, all adding up to providing students the opportunity to achieve their “greatest” results – an alternative description of what BG stands for, the “best” and “greatest”. It’s ever apparent in the changes we continually make to the facilities and with staff to provide our students with the best environment we can. The first week back is always a busy one with the students starting their various schools, and the golf and fitness coaches conducting assessments. By early next week each student-athlete will have a “blueprint” plan, identifying what they need to work on in golf, mental performance and fitness, as well as a golf tournament strategy for the fall semester. During the first weekend we held our “People, Purpose, Passion Semester Kickoff” program, which was a lot of fun but also had some key learning opportunities, identifying student personality traits and also their “goals and aspirations”. This immersive experience allows us to then work through the student objectives, ensuring that we have a strategy for golf, academics and of course college. As I get to know our new students and get reacquainted with our returning students, I know it will be a promising year with impressive results on and off the golf course. All the best, Andrew Summers CEO
