our team of blasting bad-ass super marines
has taken the Alien invasion by storm. They’ve
saved innocent civilians, plugged countless
Sectoids and learned a lot about strategy and
how to engage this new threat. They’ve become
comrades, friends even, and seen unbelievable
things together. An alert appears; there’s been
an attack somewhere in the world and the team
need to be there fast. Looks like it’ll be just another
routine mission.
What they didn’t count on was the new threat
posed by the Aliens; a whole new breed called
the Cryssalids. They catch the team unprepared
and move on them with swift force. In just a few
turns two of the squad are already dead, turned
in to zombies by the Cryssalid poison. The final
members of the squad must struggle through a
tough fight to come out alive. Another man falls
in the carnage; the final two battle on alone and
survive, but scarred and forever changed by this
one mission.
There’s a reason Firaxis’ XCOM game was titled
Enemy Unknown. While most missions went by
without much cause for alarm (assuming you played
it safe), there was always a slight fear that the next
XCOM: Enemy Within Special Edition 2013
