XCOM: Enemy Unknown - The First Hour soldiers. I am tempted to edit them all, but decide not to, otherwise I’ll be here all night. I also worry that it’ll make me too attached to the team that I will inevitably get killed. 2120 - Same drill as before: Sweep the site and neutralise threats. 2121 - The first instruction teaches me how to open doors quietly. I believe that may have been a useful option in the last mission. 2122 - Sent Lopez - who’s surprisingly 2115 - I finally pull myself away from sightseeing to nimble for a heavy gunner - up to a promote Lopez. I’m then requested in the research roof via the drainpipe, which alerted the aliens. So lab. much for the quiet approach. 2116 - Using alien artifacts discovered in Berlin, we are able to research either new armor materials or weapons technology. Seeing how the enemy were able to cut through our soldiers’ armour in the last mission, I vote for the armour research. 2117 - Now I’m being summoned to mission control. It’s a busy life for a commander. 2117 - Central Officer Bradford informs me that there have been alien sightings in both US and China. I can only help with one, and each will give me a different reward, but will leave the other country less likely to help in the future. I choose the US as I believe the four scientists they offer will be more useful in the long run than the bit of money offered by China. 2123 - I’m finally able to control my squad without the influence of mission control. We take out the two aliens with ease, leaving us to scan the rest of the area. 2125 - Uh oh. Alien activity. The squad slowly manoeuvre along a pier, forcing the ETs into a building at the end. 2126 - Mission control reminds me that Lopez’s rocket launcher might be able to bring down the aliens’ shelter. Unfortunately, he misses horribly. 2128 - Oh dear. I leave Brown in a poor position and the bogeys easily take him out. 2129 - Lopez avenges his fallen comrade. 2118 - Time to select my squad. 2132 - The aliens’ sheltered position make them a pain to take down.
