EDITORIAL
Welcome, dear readers, to a very special edition of the GameOn magazine. We all have those fond
memories of our childhood, the ones we hold truly dear to our hearts. It might be a pet you had,
or a tree you used to climb, or in this case a TV show that essentially became your everything.
Transformers. You feel that tingling in your fingers? The excitement welling in the pit of
your stomach? Well we did too when we heard about the new Transformers game coming
from Activision this year, Rise of the Dark Spark and we just HAD to get involved. We
told the staff that we wanted to do a celebratory magazine for the new game and were
rather overwhelmed by the response (especially by one particular staff member).
Many of us were affected by the Transformers in our young days, watching and imagining that
endless battle between Autobot and Decepticon. We all had a favourite who we would fight to the
death to defend as “best transformer”. Life was good, and really it just got better. There has been
no end of Transformers-related awesomeness on our screens and in our comic books, especially
since the action-packed films from Michael Bay and the new Cybertron series of games.
We have a jam-packed edition for you filled with articles written from a place of sheer love and
adoration. We’d be remiss not to mention a certain staff whom without this magazine would not
have been possible. Andrew, you have been invaluable to the creation of this mag, and without
your practically encyclopaedic knowledge on the topic, this wouldn’t be half the mag it is.
So on that note, let’s get stuck in! We hope you enjoy this special Transformers
edition as much as we enjoyed writing it and that it satiates your autobot/decepticon
hunger until the Rise of the Dark Spark is released on June, 24th 2014!
