With all of this going on, it’s easy to lose track of
Abstergo and their part in the tale. By this point it’s
clear that The Templars want the pieces of Eden
so they can directly control the people of Earth,
and use this control to prevent the solar eclipse
(you hadn’t forgotten that they’re aware of it too,
had you?). Well, the Templars manage to capture
William Miles while he was away finding the final
battery so Desmond sets out to rescue his dad from
the Abstergo HQ and retrieve the said battery. In
doing so, he encounters Daniel Cross once again,
in the original Animus room where Desmond was
first experimented with, no less. On the verge of
killing Desmond, Cross has a schizophrenic attack,
a side effect of his overexposure to the Animus (he
was once an Assassin in his own right). Desmond
