While we don’t know much about
the origins of the Third Crusadeera Assassin Altaïr Ibn-La’Ahad,
his exploits as an adult would
become crucial in the fight
for humanity’s survival.
Having worked his way up
the ranks of the Assassin’s
Brotherhood, Altaïr was
sent on a mission to stop
Knights Templar Grand
Master Robert De Sablé
from stealing an artifact.
Altaïr being an arrogant so
and so, blew the mission,
breaking all three of the
Brotherhood’s tenets in the
process. Outraged, Brotherhood
leader Al Mualim demoted Altaïr
to the rank of novice, tasking
him with assassinating nine
Templars in order to redeem
himself.
Fortunately, Altaïr became
more disciplined after
his earlier blunder, and
successfully took down all nine
Templars including De Sablé, who with
his last words revealed that there was
a tenth Templar: Al Mualim. Shocked
by this information, Altaïr returned to
the Brotherhood to confront his leader

who was now in possession of the ‘Apple
of Eden’, an ancient artifact giving him
supernatural abilities. Despite his
advantage, Al Mualim was defeated.
Upon interacting with the Apple
of Eden, Altaïr was surprised
to see it display a hologram
of Earth, with several
locations marked across
the globe.
Altaïr went on to
live a long life
and
dedicated
his last years to
building a massive

fortress, designed
to safeguard the

Eden.
Opting to defend the
Apple until the end
of his days, Altaïr’s
skeleton remained in
the the library until it
was discovered by his
descendent Ezio, 300
years later.
