Learner and Class Profile for Kristy Saunders’ Intermediate Classroom
The classroom and instruction will demonstrate my genuine desire to care for, inspire and meaningfully interact with
others. As an educator I maintain a classroom and all aspects therein to best suit the learners within it. In my classroom
learning is relative and relatable while adhering to the curriculum provided. That is to say, while the skills I am teaching
are directed by the Ontario curriculum the content, wherever possible, is derived from the interests of my students. My
hope is that my classroom will prepare students to be avid problem solvers, socially responsible members of the
community, emotionally aware and open-minded.
We will uphold an unyielding respect for difference within the classroom and school. In the classroom I will encourage
student comfort and participation by creating an environment where individuals feel safe, respected and valued. Our
classroom includes individuals from a range of cultures, religions, and socio-economic backgrounds, and we treasure the
richness that those differences bring to the classroom.
Successful integration of technology will encourage student participation and enhance the overall learning experience.
Provision of ample, differentiated opportunities will allow all students to develop the skills that meet their individual
needs.
