ahrain will remain as the season’s final race on the 2014 FIA World Endurance
Championship (WEC).
A provisional calendar for the 2014 season was released yesterday by the FIA
WEC, and the Six Hours of Bahrain will be the eighth and final event of the season,
taking place November 13 to 15 at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir.
“This calendar
represents a further
step to establishing
the brand of the FIA
WEC in the countries that we visit ...
It is important for
the seven races
outside of the 24
Hours of Le Mans
to have a stable
calendar so the fans
know when and
where the FIA WEC
will be bringing the
Spirit of Le Mans to
a circuit near them.”
– GERARD NEVEU
FIA WEC CEO
The Six Hours of Bahrain remains as
the only WEC event in the Middle East.
The season is scheduled to begin
at Silverstone in Great Britain on from
April 18 to 20. The championship will
then be making stops in Belgium in May,
France in June, Brazil in August, the
US in September, Japan in October and
China in late October before coming to
the kingdom.
All eight stops are the same as the
ones that feature this season.
FIA WEC CEO Gerard Neveu commented: “This calendar represents a further step to establishing the brand of the
FIA WEC in the countries that we visit.
“It is important for the seven races
outside of the 24 Hours of Le Mans to
have a stable calendar so the fans know
when and where the FIA WEC will be
bringing the Spirit of Le Mans to a circuit
near them.
“It also represents stability for our
teams, sponsors and partners and it will
allow us to be able to continue to build on
the foundations ]]
