otus have had an horrific pre-season, being
one of the Renault powered teams.
A strong year last year meant there
would be high hopes for an even better campaign
in 2014, but things have not been looking up.
Kimi Raikkonen has left for Ferrari. Former
team boss Eric Boullier has departed for
McLaren. And power unit suppliers Renault appear to be struggling to find a solution to the getting the best out of the new rules and regulations.
Romain Grosjean is back, but is he capable
enough of taking the lead role on the team.
Venezuelan Pastor Maldonado is teaming up with
the Frenchman and he will be looking for a fresh
start.
The winter has not been kind for Lotus. They
were the only team not to run in the Jerez testing
and then failed to show any significant signs of
life in Bahrain in their E22 car.
Grosjean and Maldonado remain hopeful,
however, that things can change.
