FULL OF HELL continued... Wayne: You guys have always been open to free music downloading, do you feel file sharing has helped your band and from your eyes do kids still come out and buy music regardless of the fact? Spencer: It’s surely helped us in the fact we can spread ourselves out a lot easier. We still push kids to buy the physical copy, but we don’t discourage them listening to it via the internet at first. In our time it’s inevitable that someone isn’t going to upload it to the internet, so why not beat them to the punch? I still think kids buy music, our records sell decently and I know for a fact I still purchase music. Wayne: Now for some more personal questions, what was your first hardcore/punk show you ever went to and records you purchased/listened to? Spencer: First punk show I went to was in some kids bedroom down the street. It was really strange for me at the time. One of the first punk records I ever got was Punk-o-Rama volume 2. My cousin gave it to me probably when I was in 6th grade. Wayne: It seems like every single day there are 90 new bands coming out of the woodwork, what are some current acts that have captured your attention? Spencer: Mostly our friend’s bands such as Ancient Shores, Homewrecker, Doubledealer, Super Mutant, Eddie Brock, Heartless, Young and in the Way, Calm the Fire. I guess they stick out to me because we’ve actually gotten close with each of these bands in a certain way. Wayne: 2012 is slowly coming to a close, what are your top five records of the year right now? Spencer: I honestly can’t even remember half of the stuff that has come out this year. Bands I usually love have really disappointed me this year. Most of the stuff I have bought this year has been from A389 (Homewrecker, Cynarae, Like Rats). Also I’ve been obsessed with Grimes and Bastard Noise, as usual. Wayne: Thank you for taking the time to do this interview, any last comments or shout outs? Spencer: Thank you Wayne for this interview and thanks to Dom, Dave Heck and all of our other musical friends.
