Wayne: In 2011 you teamed up with Jason Schwartz and Nick Townsend to create the awesome fest that is Gnarmaggedon Fest, how did that project start and how has the reaction to the fest been? D: Yes sir, in 2011 it was us 3 while in 2010 it was only Jason and I plus whoever we had helping out day of. Me and Jason had the idea to create a fest that covered all aspects of the punk/hardcore genre and all sub genres. Throughout both years the fest has happened, we have gotten some crazy mixtures of bands in which we all love and it was a huge treat to see them all play together on one (or two, in 2011) stage(s) Wayne: This past June you guys unleashed Gnar II, how did those shows go and how was working with bands like Stalag 13 and Negative Approach? D: Man...that shit was nuts. I STILL can’t believe we had the bands play that we did. Gnarmageddon II was insane. There was such a diverse crowd there
and it was exactly what we dreamed it to be. There were reactions to bands that were the best they had ever gotten. As well as people exposing themselves to ones that they previously wouldn’t have felt obligated to check out, such as my band, Aukerman. We played first and definitely caught people off guard since we’re not a hardcore band by any means. I had friends and others come up just stoked on how we were and then energy we had. The same goes for other bands, I saw people stoked on almost every single/if not every single one. Working with both bands (NA and Stalag 13) was a pretty simple task. NA had the basic contract with any bigger band so that was definitely more stressful, but still could have been MUCH worse. Just google ‘slayer concert rider’ and have fun with that haha. Stalag 13 was super easy to work with. Most of the dudes, aside from Ron (who lives in Melbourne, AUS) still live locally in Oxnard/ Ventura County. We paid to fly Ron out, paid them, a little more to play Gilman too and they were good to go. Awesome dudes, who ripped it up at the fest. Wayne: What is there to expect from EarthAD in late 2012 and beyond? Gnar III in mind? D: Already I am getting hit up for shows in Sept/ Nov/Dec that are going to be awesome. More local shows, more great new local bands starting and always badass touring bands coming through. I can’t wait. Hopefully some more venues pop up since there is always a need for
one in OC and a solid one in LA. Definitely would love to expand and book in some other places like I used to. Definitely plan to do a fest next year. We haven’t met/ sat down to talk about things at all yet due to Media Blitz being on tour, but I’ve had ideas and schemes in my head since mid-planning 2011 haha. If all pans out, it’ll be the most badass thing to happen in Southern California in quite the long time. Wayne: Now onto Bridgetown DIY, how did that project start and what route would you guys/girls like to take with it? D: I had known Cameron for a little while prior to us getting together and starting to plan out what ended up being called Bridgetown DIY. There was a show at Aladdin Jr, which I be Y]?H?\?H?[?[ZH?[?Y?]?]?\?H?\??[YHH?]?H?[K[??\??[YHHY[?[?\???\??][?X??]??[????\?H[?H??[?H?[?YH?\?K?]\?]\??^H?Y??HY]?]HX?[??[X?\????Y[??]\????\?[??H???H?H]?\???Y?H[??\?[[?8?&\??[\\??H?Y?[?[H[??Y??H?[?YK???[][?]H?X?H??H[?HY[?K?X?YX[??H??Y?H[??[?\?[?\??X??[YY??Y?]??[??Y????Y?]??VK??H\?H?\??[?H]H?]?H][[?]?H?Y[?H]H?Y?[??]]?H?X?[?H?Y[??][????YHYX\???[???X?\???]?[??]??????\??[\????????H\?H??[????Y?[H?Y?[?YY][???YZ?HY?Z[??Y?[?H?[???
