An intimate wedding in Paris
Real wedding in Paris by Et Voila Weddings
Liz & Arnaud, a Franco-Australian couple
living in London, got married in Paris last
July and called Et Voila to help them put
together all the lovely ideas Liz had in
mind for her big day.
The couple chose an old watermill, renovated and
redecorated to high standards, about 45 min drive
from central Paris. This unique location offered a
beautiful building with lots of accommodation on
site for the couples’ closest and dearest, a beautiful
park, a pool and… an island!
Liz and Arnaud organized their blessing ceremony
on the island of course, surrounded by centenary
trees and the river, which was adding a lovely
peaceful background sound all along the ceremony.
The celebration was conducted by one of our
professional partners for a ceremony entirely
bespoke.
For music during ceremony, we suggested a lovely
guitar and voice trio who performed songs chosen
by the couple: Marry Me by Train (one of the most
emotional bridal arrival we have seen so far – the
singer was just amazing) and We’re Better Together
by Jack Johnson as the ceremony ended.
After the I Dos and the signature of the certificate,
the couple and their guests moved to the terrace of
the mill for cocktail drinks. The weather was a bit
30
unstable and a bit chilly so we put some blankets
to the disposition of the guests. The prints read “To
keep you warm, and for you to keep…”. A guitar duo
played Jazz Manouche for a lively and very Parisian
atmosphere.
Then of course everyone moved to the dining area
for a succulent dinner prepared by one of the rare
caterers in Paris preparing all the food on site,
without pre cooking. This meant that the food
was really excellent and cooked to perfection. A
wedding cake was served after dinner: the bride
chose her favorite, a red velvet cake with cream
cheese! This was not easy to find as most wedding
cake designers only work with sugar icing to make
the cakes heat proof and easier to decorate.
After dinner we organized a flair bar tender, who
prepared cocktail in front of the guests, making
bottles fly and glasses spin!
