Real Wedding in Provence by Et Voila Weddings Farah & Burhan got married last summer in their family home in Provence and asked Et Voila to help them in the planning of their intimate wedding. Farah and Burhan currently live in Barhain but, Burhan being half French, the decision to get married in France was taken very quickly after they got engaged. Burhan being very attached to his family home in Provence it is naturally that the couple decided to get married there. The wedding day started off with the bride and groom preparations in a 5 star hotel not far from the family home. Farah chose a simple hair do with curls and a braid picked with small delicate pink roses. Each of the bridesmaids had a lovely bouquet matching the one of the bride, only paler and smaller. Once ready, Farah and Burhan drove to the village town hall for a civil ceremony. This was the town hall where Burhan’s parents got married more than 20 years ago! After ceremony, everyone was invited to the house for cocktail drinks in the nearly centenary family olive orchard. A jazz band entertained the guests, who enjoyed fresh mocktails served in lovely jam jars decorated with custom made stickers and stripy straws. In order to make sure all family members were part of the event, we created a family tree with photos of both Farah and Burhan’s families, from their great grand parents to today. The tree was a great opportunity for all guests to (re)discover old photos of the people present on the day. 18 The guests were then invited to a seated dinner on a lovely terrace re decorated for the occasion with romantic fabric curtains, fairy lights and a profusion of candles. The couple had chosen centerpieces of birdcages of different shapes and sizes, decorated with beautiful flowers in tones of off whites and pinks. After dinner, Farah and Burhan cut their beautiful wedding cake. The icing was light pink and decorated with white sugar lace and birdcages to match the theme of the evening and the bride’s dress. They then joined the dance floor for their first dance and the party started! A photo booth was set up in the room for the guests to play with props and have fun!
