On June 11 and 12 , take a walk through the Vieux Carré and stop at the French Market ’ s Creole Tomato Festival to enjoy music , food , shopping and of course the best tomatoes in the world ! Love fireworks ? On the Fourth of July , Crescent Park presents a bird ’ s-eye view with the Go 4th on the River event and their dueling barges fireworks display . Not enough music , you say ? On Aug . 6 and 7 , Satchmo SummerFest will delight your ears and eyes as the festival pays tribute to Louis Armstrong ’ s 121st birthday .
From its fabulous festivals , sultry jazz clubs , romantic restaurants and exquisite courtyards , to the nostalgic views while strolling along the banks of the Mississippi River , the old-world charm of the French Quarter is sure to captivate your heart .
