The National Astronomical Observatory

The National Astronomical Observatory is a place where science and history meet. It’s in the Casa Nariño meadow, in the Bogota centre; all the days.you can go into freely.

You can enjoy the guided tour. In this place there are several pictures and documents about general history of Colombia, also on 20 of July of 1810, the Independence Day was signed here. It’s an old building designed by the Italian architect Fray De Petrés. It’s circular shape and has three floors, it´s a great place to travel through time.You can enjoy a good time with your family in this place.

The Museum of Natural History

The Museum of Natural History is a hidden treasure of the Universidad Nacional. You should not forget to visit this magnificent exposition of some types of stuffed animals and specific information about the beginning of the life and its evolution. It’s very interesting because you can take a tour for 8 showrooms like Anthropology, Arthropod, Marine World, Reptiles, Birds, Mammals and the Cavern of Bats, where you can get to know in detail about the beginning, changes, evolution and extinction of differents species of Colombia.

You can find in each showroom some interesting details about each animal, each period of history and their lifestyle. It is a magnificent exposition, because this, you should go and visit it, you’ll not regret that. You’ll find this place in the building 425, ICN (Instituto de Ciencias Naturales).
