Ben's words of wisdom

DID YOU KNOW....?

In 1732, Franklin published the first edition of Poor Richard's Almanack, a guide to wisdom for the common man. Each edition contained yearly calendars including recipes, weather forecasts, jokes, and numerous proverbs we still use in our everyday conversations today.

See examples in the slideshow & below:

"Little strokes fell great oaks."

"A penny saved is a penny earned."

"Haste makes waste."

"Early to bed, early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise."

"God helps them that help themselves."

"Never leave that till to-morrow which you can do to-day."

"Well done is better than well said."

"Whatever is begun in anger ends in shame."

"Any fool can criticize, condemn, and complain, and most fools do."

"Diligence is the Mother of Good Luck."
