At Frederick Country Day Montessori, there is a long tradition
of serving the community. Children are taught that compassion
and caring for one another is part of who we are. Community
work is designed to serve basic needs of others. Children and their
families have collected and donated children’s books for Frederick
Memorial Hospital, coats for Glade Valley Community Services,
nonperishable foods for the Frederick Food Bank, women’s winter
hats/scarves/gloves for Heartly House, personal hygiene items for
Frederick Rescue Mission, lunch foods for Blessings in a Backpack,
Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF and gently used children’s shoes for
the Central American Relief Project in El Salvador.

Montessori community.
Frederick Country Day Montessori School is an international community
of learners that embraces diversity and nurtures the development of happy,
compassionate, lifelong learners. The school offers programs for children
ages 6 weeks through kindergarten. Built as a Montessori school in 1997,
the school is situated at the entrance to the Dearbought Community in
Frederick, off Md. Route 26.
