Federated Charities
Offers Incubator Space
to Assist Nonprofits
BY ELIN ROSS, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, FEDERATED CHARITIES
The Lloyd and Charlotte Hoover Charity Incubator Space, a small,
low-cost, flexible space available to emerging nonprofit organizations
in Frederick, launched at the beginning of 2017.
In the incubator space, Federated Charities is also sharing their 100
years of expertise to help new organizations move from concept
to implementation. In addition to the incubator space, these
organizations have access to quarterly training sessions, underwritten
by Federated Charities, to help them focus their energy on providing
better services to the community.
The official vision of the Hoover Charity Incubator space is to use
the assets of the Federated Charities building to support the efforts
of emerging programs that support the well-being of residents in
Frederick and provide services to needy families and individuals.
Federated Charities has promoted the value of collaborative space
and believes that when nonprofits can save on overhead costs,
they have more resources to use for the programs and services
that directly impact individuals and local communities. Tenancy
in the Hoover Incubator, or in a traditional 12-month lease with
Federated Charities, brings added value to partner programs and
clients by sharing unique expertise, collaboration and maximization
of resources. Federated Charities provides a visible space in the heart
of Downtown Frederick where organizations and the community
can support these programs and their clients.
The mission of Federated Charities for more than 100 years has been
to provide compassionate community services in Frederick and offer

education and resources that support nonprofits in a collaborative
environment so they can better serve their local clients. The intention
is to promote this mission by providing attractive, centrally located
and cost-effective space for nonprofit tenant partners, whether they
rent for one day or 12 months.
Featuring amenities such as free WiFi, file storage, access to a
15-seat conference room, mail delivery, monthly “office hours,” a
kitchenette and a color copier, tenancy in the Hoover Incubator can
be an effective way for a small nonprofit organization to establish
a presence in the heart of Downtown Frederick.
Depending on which membership level an organization chooses,
the daily rate for rentals are as low as $10 per day, so organizations
can build the schedule they need to bring the next, great, world-
changing program to fruition.
