Under the new delivery scheme courier firm On the Dot, part of City Sprint, will pick up the products from Matchesfashion.com’s Wembley distribution centre for delivery within 90 minutes.
CEO Ulrich Jerome told the Evening Standard that he believed on-demand delivery will be the norm in the next 18 months. “This new service means a City worker who has just pulled an all-nighter can order a fresh set of clothes for that important first meeting of the day, or a last-minute invitation in the evening with nothing to wear won’t be a problem any more,” he said.
Matchesfashion.com’s main rival in the luxury space Net-A-Porter.com currently offers two same day options within London: Premier Daytime for orders placed before 10am and Premier Evening for orders placed before 2pm with one-hour delivery slots offered for both services.
