As part of an expanded vision for our landmark Parkinson’ s Progression Markers Initiative( PPMI), this trial will help define the earliest warning signs of PD, reveal the biology driving its progression, and examine whether timely intervention could change its course. Together, disease-modifying therapies and the prevention trial pave the way for an emerging reality: a precision medicine approach to Parkinson’ s that accelerates the right therapies for the right people, at every stage of the disease.
Science is nearing the point where it will move into people’ s lives— and it’ s happening because this community has led the way. In this issue, we mark 20 years of our grassroots fundraising community Team Fox and the grit, creativity and generosity they’ ve brought to the work of ending Parkinson’ s. Their leadership is part of a larger community story that keeps us grounded in patient experience, responsive to new scientific opportunity, and constantly challenging ourselves to be bolder.
