Catherine Jolly
I will be travelling over to Malta straight from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where I have been teaching for the past 6 years. I am originally from Nottingham in the UK and gained an interest in travel after volunteering abroad following my Primary Education degree. Since then I have been lucky enough to not only have travelled to many amazing countries but also completed work placements in Cambodia and Hong Kong. I believe in a holistic education, where children reach their full potential in all areas of their lives, not just academically. This belief eventually led me to complete a Masters in Social Work and is why I will be joining VIS as the Elementary School Social-Emotional Advisor and PSHE Teacher. I am an active person who enjoys most sports but I also really enjoy sketching which I hope to do more of in Malta. I will be bringing with me my two cats - Milo and Scooby - let’s hope they enjoy travelling as much as I do! I look forward to learning more about Malta and meeting everyone very soon!
In addition, I enjoy hiking, camping and being outdoors.
I will be traveling to Malta with my husband Pavel, my children Alexandra (8) and George (6) and our cat Sima. I am thrilled to join the VIS team soon!

Travis Burnham
I'm originally from Newburyport, Massachusetts, about an hour north of Boston.
My undergrad is in Biology and I absolutely love teaching science and how it allows a better understanding of the world around us. A bit of a left turn after that, with my Masters, which is in Creative Writing. I'm a published writer of many short stories, mostly science fiction and fantasy, and also have some novels looking for homes.
Overseas, I've taught in Colombia, the CNMI, Portugal, and also Japan, where I met my talented and beautiful better half, Chika Burnham. I'm a fan of adrenaline, and at various times in the past have enjoyed skydiving, bungee jumping, kiteboarding, scuba diving, and snowboarding, but also very much enjoy more relaxed activities like walking, writing, reading, role-playing games, music, and exploring. I play the ukulele and banjolele, barely and badly. I am very excited to join the VIS community!
