Silky is a JAYE company with a mission to produce and offer affordable, high quality and competitive drink covers, against drink spiking that increase the safety of the local community. Living in a country with a vivid nightlife, it was inevitable for us as teenagers to encounter some of the darker aspects of going out to clubs and bars in Malta. Contact us via instagram or our email: [email protected]

Mediterranean Youth Mathematical Championship (MYMC)

Since 2018 the Department of Mathematics within the Faculty of Science, University of Malta, in collaboration with the Directorate for Learning and Assessment Programmes within the Ministry for Education and Employment, has held ‘Problem Solving Sessions’ at the University of Malta for 6th-Form students with a keen interest in mathematics. Every year we have two or three Verdala students who have taken the opportunity to participate in these ‘Problem Solving Sessions’. In the last few years, they decided to also use these sessions to help prepare a team of students to participate in the Mediterranean Youth Mathematical Championship (MYMC) in Italy in July. The MYMC has been running since the year 2013 and is organized by the Italian Ministry of Education and four Roman universities (Roma Tre, Sapienza, Tor Vergata, UNINT). The participating team will consist of 4 students, 2 boys and 2 girls. And the organizers of the MYMC will cover room and board, as well as all travel expenses. I am very happy to announce that one of our Grade 12 students – Molly Butler - has been chosen to represent Malta and be a part of the team competing in the 2022 MYMC this summer!! Congratulations Molly and Good Luck!!
