MIDDLE SCHOOL

Message

MS Principal

Ms Sarah Boylin

It has been a great start to the new school year and we have had a very positive first few months. This year there have been a lot less “unknowns” and we have all become very used to the many Covid routines in place and therefore the start up has felt more like before. With this increased optimism, we as a Middle School, are very much looking forward to 2022 as it is looking to be an exciting year for us! As I write this, work will be starting on the building of the substation, which will help us to have climate control, and we are all looking forward (especially the students) to being warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. Also, 2022 is the year that we will be introducing the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) from September 2022. The MYP aims to develop active learners and internationally minded young people who can empathize with others and pursue lives of purpose and meaning and is strongly aligned with our VIS Definition of Learning. The programme empowers students to inquire into a wide range of issues and ideas of significance locally, nationally and globally. The result is young people who are creative, critical and reflective thinkers. At the start of 2022 there will be a number of Parent Information Meetings (PIMs) run by our MYP Coordinator, Mr Jason Ward, to provide further information for parents.

We are looking forward to the exciting year ahead and hope you are excited to be part of the journey too!
