IMYC - Big Ideas

MIDDLE SCHOOL

Within the IMYC we have a number of personal dispositions that students are encouraged to embrace and show throughout their Middle School life. Since the introduction of Distance Learning, the students have shown two of these values in particular with great resilience and adaptability of working within this new system.

VIS Values: Adaptability Communication Collaboration

Enquiry Morality Resilience Respect Thoughtfulness

As the year draws to a close, students will soon be completing their final Exit points, and students who have been exemplary models of our Middle School values will be nominated for VIS Value awards by their teachers in recognition of their achievements this semester.

Entry Points through ZOOM!

Entry points are normally a time when the whole year group can get together and explore the meaning behind the new Big Idea. For the most recent Big Ideas we may have been physically separated but we didn’t let that stop us!

Grade 8 - Community

"A shared sense of belonging occurs when people are able to negotiate

and appreciate their complex, often messy, differences.”

As Grade 8 prepare to move into High School they have been reflecting on their time in MIddle School. During their Entry point they have been planning and designing a time capsule of all the special memories and sharing them with other members of the Grade 8 community.
